Iran-China Relations Are Built on Mutual Respect – Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Kazem Gharibabadi said Iran’s relations with China are based on mutual respect, opposition to unilateralism and the pursuit of shared interests.

Gharibabadi made the remarks during a meeting with Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Miao Deyu in Beijing on Monday, according to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

The senior Iranian diplomat said Iran and China have supported each other at key moments in history and continue to maintain active coordination and cooperation on bilateral relations as well as in international forums within the framework of their comprehensive strategic partnership.

Gharibabadi also highlighted what he described as serious crimes committed by the United States and Israel, including the alleged assassination of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, during the 12-day and 40-day imposed wars.

He stressed that Iran is not a country seeking war, but said the country had demonstrated significant national, institutional and social strength in confronting what he described as two aggressive and rebellious regimes equipped with advanced military technology.

“Although Iran is not a warmongering country, it has proved that it possesses such national, institutional, and social strength that, in confronting two aggressive and rebellious regimes armed with the most advanced military equipment, it was able to deal heavy blows on them through exemplary resistance and achieve remarkable victories,” Gharibabadi said.

The meeting in Beijing comes as Tehran and Beijing continue to emphasize their comprehensive strategic partnership and coordination on international issues.
